Terrel Jones is a Montana artist
who has worked for the Troy School District as an art and foreign
language instructor since1983. She has recently retired to concentrate
her efforts on her painting. Terrel has opened an art studio and gallery
in downtown Troy, MT. She exhibits other artists' work as well as
her own, uses the studio space to paint and teach adult painting classes.
Terrel's interests include painting, batik, and pottery with an
emphasis on surface design and patterning. Her informal training
includes three years of art courses at Western Washington University,
and ten years of living and teaching in Lima, Peru. Upon her return
in 1979, she attended Western Montana College, Dillon, completing
an Art Education degree in 1983.
She received her Masters in Art at the University of Montana in
1999. She credits South American Native art for her preferences
in choices of colors and patterns. Ms. Jones' unique style has gained
her recognition in Montana and the surrounding areas.
